Executive and Technical Director/Owner:
Jean Yves Tola - [email protected] Born in France, Jean Yves Tola (JYT) relocated in the US in 1988 shortly after his BA in science. JYT was a professional in the entertainment industry until 2005 (Music, Film, TV) in Los Angele and Colorado. With his ex-wife Saret (H/J rider from age of 6), they started a small high end breeding operation in 1998 in the central coast of CA. As the business grew and a move to Lexington, KY in 2008, JYT started to get more involved in the administrative side of the sport horse industry. He first started the North American Studbook in 2009, created the Young Horse Show Series (YHS) in 2010 and reopened the Selle Français Studbook as agent in 2011. The North American Studbook (NAS) was established with two main purposes: create an EU like North America-based studbook and also assist the North American sport horse breeder to better compete in the domestic and international marketplace by simplifying access to simple registration and ID issues. With now more than 1000 horses registered, the NAS is enjoying a slow but selective and steady growth. Ranked 33rd in the WBFSH Jumping rankings and 1st in the US. The Studbook Selle Francais, one of the top and most consistent jumping studbooks in the world had unfortunately closed its doors in NA in 2008. JYT re-opened NA registration in 2011 and the expertise of the French helped him with both NAS and YHS. JYT’s main focus is geared towards the development of the breeding industry in the US and the young horses (1 to 6) and their need to be part of a performance driven selection process with the hopes of creating an industry that can compete with the rest of the world. YHS has now become the leading Young Horse competition in the US with over 300 youngsters participating in 2025.
